Rivermead Residents Committee Meeting Monday 26th February 2018 Present: Pam, Marie, Alison, Jon, Julian and Louise Elaine the cleaner is leaving on 16th March. It is hoped her replacement will start before she leaves. The committee agreed that Elaine will be missed. Martin has recently joined the team as the new gardener/ handyman. The committee are aware of a grey car with its tyres down situated behind Harvard House and the caretaker Andrew will be asked to look into this. Some of the front doors to the blocks aren’t closing fully. For security reasons residents are asked to ensure the door closes fully behind them upon entry and exit from the buildings. Residents are asked to ensure only small items are put down the rubbish shutes, to ensure blockages do not occur. Bottles and cardboard should be placed in recycling bins. A pressure washer will be ordered to help with the cleaning of the complex and new fronts for the noticeboards will also be ordered. Roof works will commence again in the summer, there is not a firm date as yet. Repointing works on the front wall which started last summer but not finished are now taking place. Work to repair the damage caused to parts of the riverbank garden are very expensive. Due to other major works taking place this and next year (the roofs of Princeton and Yale) the work will not be started until 2020. Julian will ensure residents have access to the safe area of the garden. Budgets are currently being worked on and notification of the service charge for the year will be sent in the next few weeks. Date of next meeting: Monday 9th April 2018
